I’m back after a short blogging break, which allowed my eyes to catch a much-needed break (I also scaled back on my Netflix addiction). I made my way to the Woolworths sale this weekend and couldn’t wait to share my bargains with you.
The first thing that caught my eye was this black and white breton which I’d been contemplating for a while as I’m replacing some of my older stripes. This one has a looser fit and long sleeves which makes it the perfect winter closet staple. At just a R110 it was a steal (use your Woolworths My School card for a further 10% discount).
1. Shoes L-R 1 , 2 , 3 , 4
Look for heels with a medium height or kitten heels if you don’t feel comfortable in heels at all. Black and nude are the essentials. Sometimes it is nice to have a pop of colour. During the coldest winter months, a medium height ankle boot will be a lifesaver.
2. Bags L-R 1 , 2 , 3
A well structured, large bag is the ideal. Depending on whether you will travel with a laptop, look for a bag with a cross body sling. Black and red for winter and a lighter bag for summer in either white, nude or grey.
3. Belts L-R 1 , 2 , 3 , 4
They are multi-purpose items, as they ensure that your pants stay in place as well as adding interest to your sleek look. Try to always match your belt to either your pants/ skirt or your shoes and go for an understated buckle. Metallics work well in the summer against lighter suits and red looks great against grey.
4. Jewellery L-R 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5
Necklaces are the best jewels to wear to work as they don’t bother you whilst typing and look great with a collared shirt as well as a plain neckline. You’ll need a classic pearl or diamante necklace, one to add a pop of colour, a simple golden or silver pendant, a fashionable necklace and or a statement necklace.
This is the perfect pick-me-up for mid-exam blues. These shoes would be perfect with a simple LBD or jeans for a night out! Do you prefer to wear your glitter all cute and classic or do you like to toughen it up with metallic studs? I am still in two minds.
I have a weakness for pointy bow heels that was sparked by Louis Vuitton’s version with the block heel. These cute summer versions by Mr Price for a mere R140 sparked my interests as soon as I saw them!
There are only two things that bother me:
1. The extreme high heel would limit the amount of wear I would get out of them- trust me I don’t wear HIGH heels to often.
2. Which colour would I choose? I mean I have a weakness for both coral and neutrals.
One thing is sure- they do make for a pretty picture!
