You might know her as Cinderella, but to those who have been watching Downton Abbey she will always be Rose. Her recent press tour for the Disney classic certainly brought my attention to her style. As you know, I am a sucker for a princess dress and boy has she brought it on in that department!
She always looks elegant, whether in it is for a red carpet appearance or a red-eye. She manages to effortlessly go from short and sweet (blue and white Valentino) to suggary sweet pink Elie Saab. She also seems to stick to the two most princess worthy designers out there, Valentino and Elie Saab for her red carpet appearances. And who can blame her? She stunned in red lace Valentino way before her princess days. Asides from the simple princess dresses, she also manages to pull off more edgy looks like enhanced silhouettes and dramatic feathers.
I don’t know what I am looking more forward to- the final season of Downton or more of Lily’s style?
st exclusively Elie Saab and Valentino, the two most princess-worthy designers, on the red carpet she keeps her looks sweet in either soft colours or with her feminine styling. Even when she puts the dresses aside for a long-haul flight, she manages to look put-together and sleek.
Elie Saab’s 2013 Fall Couture collection has everything you would expect: excessive beading, voluminous skirts and familiar necklines in a variety of fall colours. Yet it is all so very pretty that I can’t ignore it. The show started out with a few amazing deep red dresses in some familiar silhouettes. I particularly loved the dress pictured above, center.
This was followed with some nude dresses with simpler silhouettes as it is his signature style. It feels worthy of a princess.
The midnight blue ruffled dress with a lace illusion neckline was a showstopper that I can’t wait to see on the red carpet.
The final colour was a magnificent teal, which is by far my favourite. As far as the styling goes, I am not a big fan of the matching satin heels but at least it doesn’t distract from the dresses.
There isn’t much to say about the collection as it is pretty much what we’ve come to expect from the designer, but as always it is so pretty. So I hope you appreciate it as much as I do.

She’s not only an amazing actress, she’s got style too! Whether dressing for the red carpet or or not, she is always classicaly beautiful. Sticking to traditional designers such as Elie Saab, Sarah Burton and Oscar de la Renta for her redcarpet looks seem to work for her. Her off-duty style consists of beautiful coats, designer bags and boots with skinny jeans. The transition is seamless! She manages to pull off a wide variety of looks from florals and sequins to lace and embroidery with great success. She does it all with so much class and grace. My favourites are the red coat and blue Elie Saab cocktail number. I can’t wait to see what she will wear for the Oscars! What are your favourites?
