In a recent conversation with friends we wondered why so many beauty products names’ could double as porno’s (here is looking at you Nars!). Wet & Wild is an affordable range available at Clicks that I haven’t taken seriously until now. Shout out to Cara Fay for this discovery- Bare it All is a peachy-brown shade and almost straight-up dupe for MAC’s famous Velvet Teddy.
As with most popular drugstore finds, it was a little hard to track down but Tygervalley has recently been restocked.
I never actually owned Velvet Teddy, but tried it on once and found it incredibly drying and almost powdery on the lips. Bare it All is part of Wet & Wild’s Mega Last range and although it is matte it definitely feels more velvety on the lips than powdery. This doesn’t affect the lasting time though with a good 3 hours going by before I want to reapply or lick it off.
The shade is nearly identical to Velvet Teddy and I’m sure the miniscule difference won’t even show up on your lips (see Cara’s post for a full comparison). On me the shade of both lipcolours change depending on the lighting, but it is a barely noticeable tawny-peach.
All good things aside, I do wish that they had made the lipstick bullet triangular as this definitely makes it hard to get a defined cupids bow. I would have also appreciated it if the bullet could turn down all the way, as I now live in constant fear of smashing the lipstick into the side of the cover!
At just under R50, this is a great buy and something I’d highly recommend. I’m definitely heading back for more shades – In the Nude has my name on it!
